The Great Nancini

Magicians are born, not made. The Great Nancini is no exception. Born and raised as a Mansfield, Ohio native she developed a respect for family values while honing an appreciation for the mysterious and unexplained. It was during this time that she gained an understanding of true magic, although she wouldn't realize it until years later.

True magic can be found anywhere if you look hard enough. Take a moment to crush the monotony of your breakneck schedule. Push past all pretense and pride to see through the eyes of a child. Then, and only then, will you be able to see real magic. Doing this requires you to do something dangerous: believe. Believe in the transformational power of real love and the greatest secret of all will be revealed. The truly powerful magic of this world comes from within each of us when we choose to love someone else. - The Great Nancini (2007)

Nancini's interest in contemporary magic performance began in the mid 90's when her son, Mystical Matthew began to pursue his own magical aspirations. A chance meeting of local street magician "Magic Tom Claytor" at a street fair altered the course of fate and began a magical journey of ten thousand miles. Nancini herself had the honor of performing the last illusion "Magic Tom" would see before he passed from this world into the great beyond.

Nancini (or simply "Nanci" as she is known outside of magic circles) has many other interests as well. She enjoys drama, fine art, and all kinds of music. Currently she works in project management at School Specialty Furniture and Equipment. She is first and foremost an advocate of magic. Her professional life may be filled with talk of 30,000 foot paradigm shifts regarding proactive forward thinking solutions, but her real interest is delighting those around her with fun and whimsical magic.

If you were to ask Nancini what drives her to develop and perform unique magical performances she would have many answers. First and foremost though would be the expressions of awe and wonder on the faces of children and adults alike. One of the greatest pleasures of magic is being able to transport someone from their world of gray, cold, foreboding absolutes into a realm where everything is possible.

Do you believe in magic? It matters not if you are a child or an adult. Just close your eyes, spread your arms, and take the dangerous leap.

Believe.
